Well, at my 38 week appt when my doctor checked me I was already 4cm dilated! He did a sweep which sent my body into a frenzy vi bled enough to have to change a light pad every hour-2 for a day and had sporadic contractions for 2 days, then everything stopped. I'm 39.5 weeks right now, first time mom and nothing about these last couple weeks has been straight forward! I always thought I'd start having contractions, dilate, go to the hospital, endure 20+ agonizing hours of labour, either deliver or have a c section and that would be it.
